Seated Strength
A Chair-Based Yoga Practice for Stability, Renewal & Inner Power
“Even the smallest movement is a revolution when done with intention.”
We rise—gently, steadily, and from within.
Seated Strength is a 40-minute, chair-supported yoga asana sequence designed to meet you with care, wherever you are. This practice honors the truth that strength doesn’t require intensity—and that healing doesn’t require the floor.
Rooted in mindfulness, functional mobility, and the liberatory spirit of HEWA, Seated Strength invites you into a movement experience that is stabilizing, centering, and soulfully restorative.
It’s not about pushing. It’s about partnering with the body.
It’s not about achieving. It’s about arriving.
Who This Practice Supports:
Beginners exploring yoga with compassion and curiosity
Seniors or elders seeking gentle strength and increased mobility
Rehabilitators navigating recovery from injury, illness, or chronic pain
Anyone desiring a completely supported and affirming movement experience
What to Expect:
A grounded sequence of accessible seated postures designed to build stability and strength
Gentle breathwork and mindful awareness woven throughout the practice
Movement that nourishes the spine, joints, core, and nervous system
Emotional spaciousness, spiritual grounding, and somatic presence
Options, modifications, and always—invitations, never expectations
This is full-body, full-heart, full-spirit practice—without the strain, shame, or performance.
Chair by chair, breath by breath,
we reclaim what it means to be strong.
✨ You don’t need to stand up to get down.
✨ Come take your seat. Your strength lives here.
Breathe & Be
Breathe & Be is a guided breathwork experience designed to reconnect you with your most ancient wisdom—your breath.
This all-levels class explores the deep traditions, rhythms, and liberatory potential of pranayama - one of the 8 limbs of yoga - and other diasporic breath practices.
In a culture that rushes, represses, and restrains, we gather to remember:
You don’t need to do more. You only need to breathe and be.
In each session, you will:
Learn foundational and advanced pranayama techniques
Explore breath as a tool for emotional regulation, nervous system healing, and spiritual clarity
Incorporate gentle movement, meditation, and ancestral breath rituals
Be guided into stillness, insight, and return
This class is for:
Newcomers to breathwork seeking grounding and guidance
Longtime practitioners ready to deepen their breath journey
Anyone seeking a weekly reset for body, mind, and soul
Those recovering from burnout, trauma, or disconnection
There are no prerequisites—just bring your breath, your presence, and your permission to soften.
Breathe & Be is not just a practice. It is a portal.
Come back to the inhale.
Rest in the exhale.
Return to who you are beneath the doing.
✨ Join us. Breathe deeply. Be fully.
Meditation: The Wayless Way
Zen practice, walking meditation, and the radical simplicity of being.
“No attainment, with nothing to attain—that’s motivation.”
Meditation: The Wayless Way is a contemplative offering that invites participants into a living experience of meditation as an unadorned path—a wayless way—where nothing is gained, and yet everything is possible.
Drawing from a lifetime of contemplative devotion, Rev. Oni OM guides practitioners beyond methods and into Presence itself. Rooted in decades of formal Zen training — including Dharma Teacher study with the Kwan Um School of Zen and long silent retreats at the Theosophical Society and Argonne National Laboratory — Oni’s approach balances ancient rigor with everyday compassion.
Whether seated, walking, bowing, or simply observing the moment, students are guided toward direct encounter with the Self beyond thought, beyond effort. With playful precision and deep care, Oni welcomes beginners and seasoned practitioners alike into a space where “practice” dissolves into life, and life reveals itself as practice.
In each session, you will:
• Sit in stillness with guidance and intention
• Walk in mindfulness, grounded in Zen, the Tao, and engaged presence
• Inquire into motivation, meaning, and inner discipline
• Explore the subtle wisdom of “not-practice”
• Use breath and body as portals to presence
This class is for:
• Newcomers to meditation seeking grounded, soulful guidance
• Practitioners ready to explore beyond technique and into being
• Those curious about Zen, dharma, and walking meditation
• Anyone navigating burnout, grief, or transformation
• Spiritual seekers drawn to embodied, non-dogmatic paths
There are no prerequisites—just your presence, your curiosity, and your willingness to sit and see.
Meditation: The Wayless Way is not an escape. It is a return.
A return to silence, to stillness, and to the truth that is always already here.
✨ Come sit. Walk slowly. Be fully.
HEWA Yoga
HADIYAYOGA is becoming HEWA.
A new name for an ancient knowing. A next evolution for an eternal practice.
Born from the bones of traditional yogic lineages yet wholly untethered from their colonial bindings, HEWA is a sacred liberation—a return to the breath (hewa, Swahili for air) and to the ancient rhythms that have always lived in Black women’s bodies, breath, and spirit.
HEWA is a living artform.
It is a movement meditation that recalls the ancestral intelligence of the planet’s original peoples while honoring the integrity of present-day healing. Inspired by yogic form but unapologetically decolonized, HEWA is an invitation:
To unbind from dogma.
To reclaim the body as sacred site.
To move freely, not in mimicry, but in memory.
Crafted by Dr. Shani OM—artist-scholar, trauma-informed practitioner, and lifelong dancer—HEWA is not just a yoga style. It is an awakening. A somatic revolt. A prayer whispered through motion. A breath returned to its source.
This is yoga that breathes Black womanhood. That stretches beyond aesthetics and into authenticity.
This is the soft thunder of healing the daughters of the first feminine.
This is HEWA.
